Grim Reaper Ladies Boho Poncho

One-of-a-kind Halloween style with a colorful upcycled twist.

This dramatic Grim Reaper top has been completely reworked from a graphic T-shirt and vintage Kantha textiles to create an oversized, flowing poncho-style silhouette. The original black graphic tee features a haunting Grim Reaper and graveyard scene in deep shades of purple and blue.

I reconstructed the shirt by adding generously cut vintage Kantha fabric along the sides and sleeves, transforming an ordinary T-shirt into a completely new statement piece. The rich purple Kantha sleeves have a loose, flowing shape, while contrasting mustard, olive, burgundy and neutral prints peek out along the lower sides and handkerchief-style hem.

The combination of the dark Gothic graphic and colorful Indian textiles gives this piece a fun boho-meets-Goth, wearable-art look that’s perfect for Halloween without feeling like a costume.

Because the Kantha fabric is created from repurposed vintage textiles, variations in color, stitching, fading, small imperfections, loose threads and previously repaired areas may be present. These characteristics are part of the history of the fabric and make this piece truly one of a kind.

Wear it with leggings, distressed jeans or boots for Halloween parties, fall festivals, concerts or anytime you want something a little unusual.
