Welcome to Clancy’s Upcycled Couture!

I’m Joanne Vallarella, the owner and designer behind Clancy’s Upcycled Couture. My passion for fashion began when I was a child. I spent countless hours sketching clothing designs and exploring creative ideas for garments. In high school, I majored in art, which allowed me to further develop my creativity and appreciation for design. Later, I studied fashion merchandising in college, expanding my knowledge of the fashion industry.

A few years after college, I learned to sew and quickly discovered a passion for creating clothing by hand. What began as a creative outlet grew into a lifelong hobby and eventually the inspiration for Clancy’s Upcycled Couture.

Originally from Long Island, I relocated more than 20 years ago to the beautiful town of Saugerties. It is here that I continue to design and create one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by my love of fashion, creativity, and craftsmanship.

At Clancy’s Upcycled Couture, I create unique garments and accessories using carefully selected reclaimed, vintage, and repurposed textiles. Every piece is individually crafted, and because many items are made from previously loved materials, no two creations are exactly alike.

My goal is to offer distinctive, handmade fashion while celebrating creativity and giving existing textiles a new life. Each item is made with attention to detail and designed to be both functional and unique.
